This is my friend Tanya. Today she joined the Turkish women of Didim in a protest march for ‘One Billion Rising” the cause against ‘Violence to women’
I am very proud of her for taking part. It seems the event was not very well publicised and although Tanya tried to rally the troops yesterday, it was perhaps, a bit short notice? In any event it was poorly attended.
It is unusual for me to blog twice in one day but, I just wanted to show my support for the cause and for the ladies of Didim that turned out to march. So, a very big ‘WELL DONE LADİES” to Tanya, Sonia and Wendy (pictured below).

I watched the ladies of Norwich strut their stuff. Wonderful and rather moving.
Jack, I am ashamed to say I had no idea this was going on today until I caught up with Tanya on Facebook! I’m not really a news watcher and Ive kinda been in my own little world of late.
All power to the ladies or Norwich, Didim and the world and to all the men who turned out to watch too – I salute you
Yes, well done ladies – I salute you!
I wish that I had been in Turkey I would have joined your cause maybe the next I also salute you’s
#1billionrising is totally a cause worth blogging twice in one day for! Well done. Your blog post matters because as you said, this event needs all the publicity it can get. Aferin!
Thanks Karen and yes you are right. There is something so powerful when women join forces and put their minds to change.
I’m only sorry I was not there to join Tanya on the day and am ashamed to say I had no knowledge of this cause before day I posted.
It was quite big here too, although I didn’t take part. Hope their voices reach the right people.
So glad you shared one billion rising! Thanks for the follow. It brought me here. Turkey is on my list of must see places. I’ll enjoy reading through your blog!
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I hope you get to Turkey soon, it is well worth the trip
