As a self confessed people watcher, I like to try and capture them in their natural habitat. I think however, my photographic skills are not good enough for action shots but I do enjoy zooming in on faces. I love the way a persons face can say so much with a closed mouth. Expressions and lines tell a story of their own. In fact, I sometimes prefer the story I have read to the one that is apparent once the speaking begins!
Over the years I have captured various faces, some by very sneaky shooting and some have been willing subjects. In this post I would like to focus on the Faces of South Eastern Turkey. Faces of both strangers and people I know. I am not giving them a title as I don’t want it to influence what you see so,

. . this is a lovely idea and you should do more of these from time to time. As you say – ‘every face . .’

Great pics. I’d like to do a bit more stuff with faces like this because the photos can tell so many stories. I just always feel bad either asking for a photo or taking them under the radar. Will have to overcome that one day I guess, if I do want to do more like this. 🙂

Thanks Julia 🙂 Some of these people are family and they know I write about them and put their photos online – thankfully, they don’t mind! I do sometimes feel a bit bad for those sneaky shots of strangers but like to think, they would thank me for noticing how interesting they were!! I hope you overcome it as I would love to see – could sit and look at photos all day me lol

Interesting post. It made be think that as I become older (and more wise perhaps;)) I have been able to value silence more and just be more focused on facial expressions and listen to the stories of these faces. It is so beautiful when love and compassion are expressed through the eyes alone, without any words.

Great idea – when I look back at my photos, I only have family or ancient sites – where are all the people?

Thank you Annie. Turkey is so picturesque and easy to photograph, sometimes we forget there are people in it!!

Thank you Madhu 🙂 These were picked at random from my photo files. I think at some point, I would like to shoot some photos with this subject in mind and see what happens!
